What should i do with my life Life goals and shelf notes: May 15, 2020
What should i do with my life?
•
Somebody might tell you “Trust Life” or “You are where you meant to be” or even worse “Everything happens for a reason” etc.
You know what I’ll tell you? – That’s Bullshit.
If you are here reading me it’s not because it was meant to be. Probably it’s because you know you’re not living up to your full potential or you don’t know what your full potential might be.
But you want to find out.
And as sure as hell you don’t know how.
Not knowing what to do with my life is a very familiar feeling for me to – at least for the most past years of my adult life.
I’ve tried numerous of different jobs, followed my passions, tried to surprise me too with decision I couldn’t know where they might lead me upfront but yet here I am, still a misfit, a restless soul trying to fit the universe to her heart, the universe that always change and even if I sometimes despite that, more often I embrace it. Maybe that’s my stardust.
I could be a modern version of the persona Ziggy Stardust that David Bowie created at '70s.
Or I don’t know.
That’s why I feel you right now.
And even if I am not the one who will tell you what you should do in a case like that, well I can try tell you what others suggested to do and we might both try to see if anything of these fits on us or not.
The only think I will tell you for sure – here and now – is that even if nothing fulfills you again, it’s ok.
And I could send you a virtual hug.
But it’s ok and it will be ok even after you this and that’s a fact.
1. Imagine your ideal lifestyle, how your life would like to be for example when you wake up in the morning –and go for it.
Find what it needs to step up in the way and do it.
Your strengths and patient is probably what you’ll most need.
2. Write down your values and all the things you would like to keep – like your morals or ethics, your freedom of being – and promise yourself you won’t loose on the way.
3.Get started.
A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow* (phrase beyond Anthony Hopkins’ character in the 1997 film The Edge).
Or as George S. Patton actually said: “A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week.”
Perfect is the enemy of the Good and guess what: Perfect Rarely Does Exists.
