✍️ Baden-Baden Airport also called as Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (IATA: FKB, ICAO: EDSB - German: Flughafen Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden) is the international airport of Karlsruhe, the second-largest city in the German state of Baden-Württemberg and also serves the spa town of Baden-Baden.

Baden-Baden is a German airport that mostly serves low-cost and leisure flights (ex. cheap Ryanair flights).

The airport itself is part of Baden Airpark, a business park with numerous other tenants and is located in Rheinmünster, 40 km (25 mi) south of Karlsruhe, 12 km (7.5 mi) west of the spa town of Baden-Baden, 25 km (16 mi) east of Haguenau and 25 km (16 mi) north of Strasbourg, France.

Lily's tips:


To reach Karlsruhe by public transportation from the Baden-Baden Airport we had to (first) take the bus to take us to the Baden-Baden train station and from there we had to take a (not so fast) train for about 20 minutes to reach at the Karlsruhe Hbf (Hauptbahnhof railway station).

You can always do the same route on a taxi/cab if you can afford it 'cause it will raise up your travel's cost too much.



• From the Baden-Baden Airport to Baden Baden's train station by bus:


The local bus No 285 operates outside the arrivals of the Baden-Baden airport and follows the road to Baden-Baden Spa town until it stops to the Baden - Baden Railway station.

Please note:
On public holidays, the bus line 285 operates according to the Sunday timetable.

• From the Baden-Baden town and railway to the Karlsruhe Hbf (Hauptbahnhof - by train):


You can buy a ticket from the vendor machines in front of the Baden-Baden's railway station by using the DB (DB is the German Train Company) options.

Please note:
The vendor machines in Baden-Baden railway station don't have an english menu so you might have to find a polite German speaker traveller to help you buy the right tickets for your destination.


Another choice you have (before get to the railway station) is to buy your tickets online.

Go to www.bahn.com/en and type from: "FKB Baden-Airpark" to: "Karlsruhe Hbf".
This would provide several results.


There seem to be two main combinations:

1) Bus + S-Bahn, changing in Rastatt.
According to bahn.de this takes 1hour

2) Bus + Regional Train, changing also in Rastatt.
According to bahn.de this takes 50min.
